It’s natural that at times you need something spicy to add flavour to your otherwise bland life – that is, assuming you call watching Janet Jackson’s nipple slip on repeat “natural”. Adding spicy flavour to your daily routine, Fresh Is Best Salsa.
Started as a Kamloops’ Farmers’ Market specialty by two love birds who craved a healthier lifestyle, Fresh Is Best Salsa is an additive free, non-processed salsa that uses only fresh vegetables and herbs, such as tomatoes, peppers, onions, cilantro, parsley, jalapenos, fresh squeezed lemons and limes. Their line includes a Mild, Medium, Hot and Extra Hot, which is only recommended if you can (man)handle your salsa like Kirstie Alley wanted to do with her skinnier competition on Dancing With the Stars.
To add to the slew of salsa mixes whipped up by the local kitchen caperers, the Fresh is Best line has now expanded to a guac spread, a habanera sauce and a number of dips including black bean, layer and garlic spinach. At their flagship store in Kits, you can also check out rare hot sauces from around the world; and the owners pledge that if they don’t carry the sauce you want, they will try and find it for you, which is more than you can say about Kirstie Alley, who can’t even find her own belly button.
