Now that you’re all tricked out, here’s a weekend of treats that won’t leave you lying face down in ditch with a bottle rocket shoved up your — ah, nevermind.
FUSE AT THE VANCOUVER ART GALLERY
Friday, 8pm to 1am
If you’re tired of reenacting Riverdance with your uncles, get high-stepping over to FUSE at the VAG, where you can combine your love of dancing and drinking with something other than Irish stew – art. This Friday FUSE celebrates a night to Covet with live performances, DJs and eclectic gallery tours, with artists like Radix theatre, the Plastic Orchard Factory and more.
EAT YOUR CART OUT TOUR WITH THE TOUR GUYS
They say when you want something done right you should do it yourself; but they’d be wrong, because admittedly you have no idea how to make a banh mi, a salmwich or a kurobuta. The Tour Guys don’t know either, but they know who does, and they’ll tell you on their Eat Your Cart Out Tour this Saturday afternoon. It’ll be a street food adventure of the best carts in the city, where you’ll sample both the international and the local flavours and finally answer the question, “does dog meat really taste like chicken?”
FUNK SUNDAYS WITH PHONIX @ THE HELM
Sunday, Doors at 6pm
If you don’t like combining your dancing with your art, try combining it instead with eating, at The Helm. This Sunday the popular The Phonix (a regular Thursday sell out at the Backstage Lounge) will be funking it up at The Helm supperclub. Cover costs $6 but includes one drink voucher, with the rest of your drinks only setting you back $3 for beers or $3.50 for Caesars. Oh, and they also got 35 cent wings – booya!
