2015′s lineup of new motorcycles shows how manufacturers are adapting to the changing demands of modern consumers.
If you said to someone at last years’ motorcycle show that you’d see a supercharged Kawasaki, a three-wheeled track-fighter and an electric Harley-Davidson at the 2015 Vancouver Motorcycle Show, they’d probably tell you to lay off smokin’ the…rubber.
The all-new superchaged H2 from Kawasaki is an example. Using a lightweight centrifugal-type supercharger, Kawasaki has created a torquey and powerful engine in an efficient and compact package. Plus, they made it look like it belongs on the deck of an aircraft carrier.
The new Polaris Slingshot that is unlike anything else at this year’s Show. It’s a three-wheeled, street legal, side-by-side motorcycle(?) with an open-air cockpit and low-set chassis, giving both the driver and the passenger an incredible riding experience. Add a media console which includes an LCD screen, back up camera, Bluetooth® integration and 6-speaker audio system and you’ve got a party on a tricycle. Say what you want about three-wheelers, this is going to get you more lady passengers than a streetbike.
If you even thought those were radical bikes, there’s also going to be an Electric Harley-Davidson. I’ll just let that set in.
